“R&B Divas,” the reality TV series featuring a host of R&B singers, is back in production. Faith Evans and Nicci Gilbert broke the news Tuesday, confirming the fact that they arefilming for season two and a Los Angeles based spin-off series.
“Cheers to “R&B Divas” season 2 and “R&B Divas LA” spin-off,” Gilbert shared Tuesday. “Thanks to everyone who watched and supported day one. Filming, let’s get it.”
Nicci Gilbert confirming the launch of the new season might be surprising, considering many reports indicated that she had been removed from the cast due to internal issues. According to Faith Evans, rumors about anyone in the original cast being fired are completely false.
“I don’t know where that came from, but yeah everybody is coming back. I’m very, very proud of the success of “R&B Divas,” especially because Nicci and I didn’t want it to get in the hands of a network or production company where they would turn it into some crazy train wreck. And thank God TV One picked up the show, because they’re not about that, they’re not about portraying our culture in that type of light, you know, and that’s not what we wanted to do with our show,” Evans shared with CocoaFab Monday. “So we’re really happy it’s received by the people that chose to watch it and thankfully we get another season.”
In related news, Faith Evans was a special guest on “The Wendy Williams Show” Tuesday. While chatting with Williams, Faith Evans discussed her past with Lil Kim and said that she has moved past any issues that they might have had.
