‘Texas Rising’ to World Premiere at MipTV in Cannes

“Texas Rising,” which will air on History in the U.S., is set for TV conference MipTV in Cannes as its World Premiere TV Screening.

The new epic series is produced by A+E Studios and ITV Studios America, in association with Thinkfactory Media for History, and it is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

The first episode will be screened in Cannes’ Palais des Festivals on April 13, and key cast and the creators will walk the red carpet for MipTV’s opening party.

“Texas Rising” stars Bill Paxton (“Hatfields & McCoys”), Brendan Fraser (“The Mummy”), Ray Liotta (“Goodfellas”), Olivier Martinez (“S.W.A.T.”) and country music star Kris Kristofferson.

Leslie Greif (“Hatfields & McCoys”) is executive producer, and Roland Joffé, who was Oscar-nominated for “The Killing Fields” and “The Mission,” is directing.

The eight-hour series details the Texas Revolution and the rise of the Texas Rangers. It follows the events that unfold after the Battle of the Alamo, and the fight for an independent Texas.

Dirk Hoogstra, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Julian P. Hobbs serve as executives in charge of production for History.

MipTV runs April 13-16.
