Finding love is hard enough under normal circumstances — what happens when you’ve got some rather, ahem, unique features?
“Santa” writes a letter.
TLC’s news series “Strange Love” explores the romantic journeys of some of these quirky individuals, including a woman with 50-foot-long hair who’s married to a hairdresser, a full-time Santa looking for his Mrs. Claus, a Georgia woman with size 48NN breasts and a Los Angeles woman with 99-inch hips.
The premiere (Wednesday at 10 p.m.) features newly single LaRue Drummond of Perth Amboy, NJ, who is looking for someone to love her — and her 17-inch nails.
“I’m hoping that I meet somebody who likes my nails,” she says at a speed-dating event in the episode.
It’s also revealed that she calls her nails her “babies” — and has named each of her 10 digits.
“My longest one is probably . . . this one and her name is Marla,” Drummond tells her date. “This is Ms. Attitude. See, she’s got the attitude. So this is my favorite.
“I like being different,” she says.
Mikel shows off her 99-inch hips.
Wednesday’s second back-to-back episode profiles Cathie Jung, a North Carolina woman who has shrunk her waist to a minuscule 15 inches over the years with the help of corsets and her orthopedic surgeon husband, Bob.
At a dinner to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary, Cathie reveals one of her “special outfits” — a red-and-black corset dress — to her slack-jawed friends.
“She always likes to pose for the camera,” her husband says proudly when a patron approaches for a photo. But he maintains that her extreme hourglass figure isn’t what’s kept them married for half a century.
“The waist is just an ancillary thing,” he says in the clip. “She’s such a lovable person.”
“We’re not any different from anyone else,” she adds.
